Wissahickon Library Offers ESL Classes
Anne Frank, Director of the Wissahickon Valley Public Library and Dr.
Charles Christine, President of the library Board of Trustees
announce a series of free classes for English as a Second Language
(ESL) being offered at both the Blue Bell headquarters and the Ambler
branch library beginning this month. The director and board
president stand beside the library’s growing collection of materials
to teach English to speakers of other languages. The teacher is Mrs.
Carol Bertrand. She is qualified with an M.A. in Education and has
taught for 24 years.

The library thanks the Ambler Rotary for the grant that enables the
library to offer these courses and study materials.


Volunteers Recognized

Dr. Charles Christine, President of the Board of Trustees
and Cathie McCauley, President of the Friends of the Wissahickon
Valley Public Library present a plaque to long-time, loyal volunteers
and diligent online book sellers Eun and Jerry Liebling. In addition
to finding the best prices for books, Dr. Liebling also serves as
the Treasurer for the library’s Board of Trustees.
