After a sizzling weekend of viewing beautiful gardens throughout the township, the panel of five judges have met and made their determination on the pick of the crop for this year’s Whitemarsh Township’s third annual Garden Contest.
Taking first place honors in four residential categories are: Best Horticultural Display – Leila Sobel Best New Garden – Ron Kushner Most Pleasurable Garden – Jim Scott Best Vegetable Garden – John Olivieri
And in the commercial category, for a business or private property professionally landscaped or maintained, the winner is: Christina Lee Kobland of Native Return, LLC
A Garden Awards Ceremony will be held in the evening in September at the Highlands Mansion and Gardens in Fort Washington for contest participants, garden tour hosts and others interested in gardening and environmental programs in the township.
The rest of the results for the 2010 Garden Contest will be announced at the September Garden Awards Ceremony, with all winners and participants receiving recognition and prizes.
