| Three gold medals for PWHS in National Latin Exam |

A record 20 Colonial School District students, including 11 from Plymouth Whitemarsh High School (PWHS) and nine from Colonial Middle School (CMS) qualified for the Technology Student Association (TSA) National Conference based upon their performance at the state conference in April. Top three finishers at the state level advance to the national competition. The PWHS team of Anthony Williams, Joe Narke, Joe Weir, Bryan Bennett, Christian Schaffer and Gregory Richards placed first in “Manufacturing Prototype.” Narke, Schaffer and Williams also teamed with Weir, Olivia Gum and Lisa Kelly to place first in “Biotechnology Design,” while Bennett, Mark Forsberg, Ariana Horn and Sabrina Koenig placed third in the same category. Individually, Forsberg placed first in the state in “Extemporaneous Speech.” Individually for CMS, Rachel Paciello placed first in “Communication Challenge,” Carley Hauer was second in “Digital Photography,” Anya Forsberg was second in “Prepared Speech” and Samantha Horry was second in Chapter Team – Written.” Paciello also teamed with Stephanie Wisniewski, Jake Gum and Patrick Gaffney to place second in “Agriculture and Biotechnology Issues.” The CMS team of Paciello, Wisniewski and Horry was second in “Leadership Strategies,” while Paciello, Wisniewski, Horry, Forsberg, Sophia Gross and Woody Fulmer placed second in “Lights, Camera, Action.” Wisniewski and Gross also teamed to place third in “PA-Digital Video Challenge.” |
