Thirty years ago, a group of like-minded woman decided to take on a worthy cause to raise funds to establish a garden endowment for The Highlands Mansion. In 1981, The Highlands Craft Show was born and in 2011 it will celebrate its 30th Anniversary. Over the years, the craft show committee members have worked tirelessly to track down artists and crafts people from the northeast. Each year the search was broadened and The Highlands Craft Show now has artists who travel thousands of miles to participate. This year, the exhibitors will include metal sculpture, glass, ceramics, furniture and clothing; one of the accepted artists creates water-colored painted flowers, cut and sculpted by hand. Funds raised by the Craft Show support the restoration and maintenance of the Sinkler Garden. The 30th Annual Highlands Craft Show will take place on Saturday, October 1st from 10am-5pm and Sunday, October 2nd from 10am - 4pm. On Friday, September 30th, the Craft Show will open with a Preview Party from 6pm-9pm, reservations are required and can be made by calling, 215- 641-2687.
