Thanks from Plant Ambler
Email Print
The volunteers of Plant Ambler got some spring help from other
organizations in the area. Plant Ambler is the group that plants most
of the flowers in the Borough's business district and they extend
their thanks to the members of several organizations who helped plant
pansies during Community Planting Day. The groups that were able to
help included the Maple Glen Garden Club, Wissahickon High School
Interact Club, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Cornerstone Presbyterian
Church.
Plant Ambler has also announced the winners of the mini-essay contest
held at Temple University's Earthfest. Niyati Patel wrote that "A
community should have flowers because flowers make the place look
pretty and show that people care about the community." Nicole
Ekanayake wrote that "People should be volunteers because everyone
should give back to their community. People should help their
neighbors, family and friends to make the world a better place.
Kindness goes a long way and the community is where you live, keep it
clean and safe!"
Plant Ambler is now seeking additional volunteers to help water the
summer flowers at their many in-ground and container gardens Readers
who are interested in participating (or donating funds for future
flower purchases) are invited to call 215-643-4929 and leave a message.
