Tech Program Leads to Soccer Robots

Girls in the Colonial School District’s Girls in Technology Summer Academy hold a soccer match with robots they built. The robots were designed to be mobile and to have the ability to “kick” a small ball. The academy focused on introducing various science and technology concepts to female students entering fifth through eighth grades. Students also got a taste of animation and gaming, digital photography, graphic arts, Web design and video editing and special effects.

Jordi Swanson, who will be in the eighth grade at Colonial Middle School in the fall works on a robot with Plymouth Whitemarsh High School Technology Education teacher Jeff Yeagle during the Colonial School District’s Girls in Technology Summer Academy.
