Original Musical to Explore Love, Relationships, Redemption

Original Musical to Explore Love, Relationships, Redemption

“Week Between the Holidays,” an original musical comedy by Wyndmoor resident Mickey Leone, will debut September 17th and 18th in Chestnut Hill as part of the 2010 Philadelphia Fringe Festival. Performances will take place at 8 pm Friday and 2pm and 8 pm on Saturday at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 22 E. Chestnut Hill Ave.

The play tells the story of a battling couple, their grown children, and guests who end up trapped in the house by a snowstorm over the Christmas holiday. As the snow piles up, glasses are drained and secrets are revealed. The play explores universal themes of love, relationships, and redemption, says writer/producer Leone - themes that, he says, are intensified at the holidays.

“I think everybody feel strongly about the holidays,” says Leone, a musician, musical theater performer, and co-director of Soundstage School of Music in Oreland. “The holidays come laden with expectations about how others will behave…and, of course, they never behave the way we expect.”

The show is appropriate for teens and up. Parking is free and easily accessible.

Tickets are $20.00 and can be purchased through those involved in the production, or at the door.
