Email Print
The Rotary Club of Springfield Township began a new year in June with
the election of new Board Members at their recent Changeover Night.
Ready to serve during the 2011-2012 year are (front, l to r) Board
Member Maureen McGettigan, President Elect Linda Silva, President
Roseann Nyiri, Secretary Amanda Helwig, Treasurer Teresa Buzniak,
(back) Board Member Steve Schagrin, Past President Jack Norrie, Vice
President Tim Ernst and Board Member Frank Duff.
Changeovernight was a night to celebrate the clubs many
accomplishments during the past year. The club was responsible for
the banners that now grace the streets in Flourtown, Erdenheim and
Oreland. They also raised funds to donate $5,000 to Shelter Box. That
is enough to sponsor five Shelter Boxes to be sent abroad to help
people while in the midst of natural disasters.
Immediate Past President, Rev. Jack Norrie, was honored by incoming
President, Roseann Nyiri, for his year of service. Norrie was
presented with his gavel and Past President Pin in honor of his
2010-2011 Rotary year.
The club also presented Colleen Robinson with the Citizenship Award,
an acknowledgement of her hard work in the community particularly for
her efforts with the Springfield Community Foundation.
