In an effort to join the battle against childhood cancer, local
business partners Ilene Steinberg and Michele Barrack, will host an
Alex’s Lemonade Stand on Saturday, May 21st, from 1-4 pm at 454
Germantown Pike in Lafayette Hill. The firm will be offering
discounted head checks and products, and a portion of the money
raised that day will benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard
lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004).
In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade
stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with
cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her
name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with
thousands of volunteers across the country carrying on her legacy of
hope. To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation has raised more than
$40 million toward fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding
over 150 research projects nationally.
Lice Lifters’ CEO, Ilene Steinberg is a neighbor of the Scott family.
She saw firsthand how Alex handled her battle with cancer. Ilene and
her family have attended every one of Alex’s Lemonade Stands since
the first stand in Wynnewood and is proud to be a Lemonade Stand
Host. The team at Lice Lifters cares about children and their health.
