Once again, the Won Community Service Center and Won Buddhism of Philadelphia are co-sponsoring the 15th Annual Korean Folk Festival for Children on Sunday, August 28th, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at John Russell Field, 7420 Penrose Ave. in Elkins Park. This event will be co-sponsored with Cheltenham Township Main Street. It will be a fun- filled afternoon of food, games and activities for all ages, intended to foster community spirit and cultural awareness. Demonstrations, including a traditional Korean wedding ceremony, Irish Dance, Korean percussion workshop, arrow throwing, and a tug-of-war will highlight the event. For adults, there will be a traditional Korean quilting workshop. In addition, visitors will be able to sample traditional Korean dishes including stir-fried rice cakes, seaweed rolls, noodle soup, and Korean-style barbecued beef.
