The Ambler Kiwanis Club is in the midst of detailed planning for a
celebration of its 85th year in existence. On May 24th in the year of
1926, Everett H. Sieberg, the club’s first president, accepted its
charter from J. Hayden Oliver, Esq., the Governor for the
Pennsylvania District of Kiwanis International at Wissahickon Farms.
During that time the club has produced one District Governor, Elmer
Menges, One District Secretary, George Davis, and three Lieutenant
Governors, Elmer Menges, Edward Brandt and Bob Gordon. More
importantly, the club has been the source of ongoing service to the
community over those 85 years.
The celebration will take place on Tuesday, September 20th, at the
William Penn Inn when Lower Gwynedd Township Manager Larry Comunale
will be installed by Lt. Gov. Kim Roth as the Club President for the
2011-12 fiscal year.
Outgoing President, David Horner will be recognized for his
outstanding service over the past two years.
