| KAPA Meets to Begin 2011-2012 School Year |

The Upper Dublin Korean-American Parent Association (KAPA) met on October 25th, at the Maple Glen Elementary School Library to kick off the 2011-2012 school year. The evening began with a brief introduction to KAPA and key members of the school board and community were present. The object of the organization is to begin dialogue over how various school groups can better meet the needs of the Korean-American student community. Special guests included: Dr. Michael Paston, President of the Upper Dublin School Board; Art Levinowitz, President of the Upper Dublin Education Foundation; Joan Ryder Ludwig, member and former-chair of UD Educational Advisory Committee; and Marjorie Berlinghof (past UDHS PTO liaison to KAPA). It was a great opportunity to vocalize and address concerns of Korean- American parents in Upper Dublin. KAPA’s purpose is serve alongside the PTOs of Upper Dublin Schools to help build academically and socially well rounded students in the Korean-American community. Also, on the agenda for the evening was to elect new leaders for the upcoming school year. KAPA’s 2011-2012 Leadership is as follows: UDHS President-Kate Kim; UDHS Vice President - Suzy Kim and Eunice Park; Sandy Run Middle School President- Hyun Sook Jung; MGES President, Robert Kim, TFES President, Michelle Chung; JTES President, Suhyun Kang, Treasurer, Lisa Kim, Jeung Hee Lee and Lisa Kim; Secretary, Susan Jun and Sam Im.
