Join the Fort Washington Historical Society on Tuesday, November 15th, at 8:00 pm. Tom Rival will be on hand to present “Ocean Liner Lore.” There is not much as impressive as the sight of an Ocean liner with its super structure and traditional funnels, the many years of the epitome of man’s engineering genius as they became bigger and faster. Hear about the golden age of sea travel. Viewed as technologial wonders, an example is Cunard’s Britannia of 1830, which was 228 feet long. Her about how they operated for the comforts of the passengers and some of the disasters such as the Lusitanaia, Normandie and Titanic. This presentation is free and open to the public. The Historical Society of Fort Washington is headquartered at The Clifton House, 473 Bethlehem Pike in Fort Washington. Refreshments will be served following the program. For additional information call 215-646-6065.
