Adult Academic Support Programs Are you getting ready to take your GRE, SAT, or GMAT and have trouble with the math portion of the exam? The Fort Washington YMCA is offering one-on-one tutoring that focuses specifically on the math portion. The GRE section teaches basic math where content doesn't go beyond a junior high or early high school level; the SAT math portion measures a student's ability to reason quantitatively, solve mathematical problems and interpret data presented in graphical form; the GMAT test wants to measure your ability to solve problems, not your ability to memorize methods for solving problems. The instructor will arrange a time that is convenient for you and your busy schedule. Call 215-641-1245 for further details. Teen Academic Support Programs Is your teen having trouble with AP Chem., AP Physics or AP Calculus? One-on-One Tutoring in these areas is being offered at the Fort Washington YMCA. AP Chemistry tutoring is an introductory course for students who have had little or no experience with high school chemistry or did not perform well in the chemistry placement exam. AP Physics is intended as a preparation for College Physics or General Physics. Basic concepts, problem solving and mathematical skills are strongly emphasized. AP Calculus is for students to brush up on previously learned math skills in preparation for high school Calculus AB and BC. For more information call 215-641-1245. |
