On a Sunday morning in October the sign on the door of the Grace
Baptist Church of Blue Bell read: Church Closed! The whole Grace
Baptist Church family held their second annual “Faith in Action”
Sunday and the motto was "Don't Go To Church, Be The Church" Instead
of going to church members participated in 8 different projects and
activities that focused on serving the community.
The projects included preparing and serving dinner to the Whitpain
Fire Department; rebuild a wooded hiking trail that was damaged in
floods at the Whitpain Township Wentz Run Park; do home repairs and
landscaping clean up in Fort Washington; At Shady Grove Elementary
School in Ambler clean out flower beds and prepare their garden for
winter; and for the Latin American community in Norristown a group
put together and moved furniture and supplies into the new CCATE
homework center, including setting up computers.
The church celebrated the success of the projects with a Celebration
Service on Sunday, October 16th.
The Grace Baptist Church of Blue Bell is located at 437 Skippack Pike
(Skippack Pike and Lewis Lane), in Blue Bell.
