Youth entering grades 6-12 are invited to cool off in the William Jeanes Memorial Library for a non-religious celebration of Christmas in July. When? July 25th, of course! The time is 3-5 pm on that Monday afternoon. Activities will include games, cookie decorating, and eating. The highlight of the afternoon is a gift exchange. Those who would like to participate in the gift exchange should bring a wrapped gift that they have spent $5 or less to purchase. Christmas is July is a FREE event sponsored by the Youth Advisory Board of the William Jeanes Memorial Library and was planned as part of the teen summer reading club, “Books for Bucks.” The “YAB” meets once a month to plan activities for teens and discuss ways to improve the library’s service to the teen population. The members of the YAB also serve as library volunteers, helping Youth Services Librarian, Beth Hargis, with programs for young children. Teens in 6th-12th grade who are interested in the YAB should contact Mrs. Hargis by email at bhargis@mclinc.org or by calling 610-828-0441. For more information about Christmas in July or other teen events, please visit the library’s website, jeaneslibrary.org, or call us at 610-828-0441. The William Jeanes Memorial Library is located at 2391 Harts Lane in Lafayette Hill. |
