The Ambler Area YMCA was named this year’s best “Community Center” in
the Philadelphia region by Philadelphia Magazine, announced in the
August special issue. The Ambler YMCA was honored alongside 253 other
best things that the city and ‘burbs’ have to offer from the best
bike shop to the best cheesesteak.
The Ambler Area Y received recognition not only for its state-of-the-
art facility, but for the programs and services that members enjoy
each and every day at the Y. Philadelphia Magazine said, “The Y out-
glosses the sporting club and out-funs a water park.”
The Ambler Area Y offers more than 400 programs throughout the year,
from aquatics and wellness to child care and active older adults.
There is a program at the YMCA for every age and every ability. The Y
strives to achieve excellence and strengthen the foundations of the
Ambler community with a focus on youth development, healthy living
and social responsibility.
